MATH is really fun in 5th grade because Mrs. Truby makes sure that everyone gets taken care of, so no worries. In this classroom, we learn lots of cool stuff like fractions, decimals, multiplication, addition, subtraction, division, measurements, and prime factorization. Mrs. Truby won’t let you learn out of the boring old book. She finds fun games on the SmartBoard and songs to get the problem solved.
Science is really fun in 5th grade, we do lots of cool stuff like sip-in-see, finger prints, gak, and rubber eggs and much more because in science Mrs. Truby really thinks out side of the box. In science we usally don't work out of the book, we usally do hands on science.
In Reading, we read cool books like Regarding the Fountain, Chasing Vermeer, Tuck Everlasting, and Bridge to Terabithia. Also, you get fun parties at the end of the A.R. quarter. You have to have 16 points every quarter. These parties aren't just walking down to QT, the 5th grade teachers make them creative.
In English, we do a lot of papers for morning work such as nouns, adverbs, verbs, conjunctions, pronouns, prepositions, and adjectives. Also there are NO TESTS IN ENGLISH!
In Vocab. you will receive a booklet with pages and you color code and also highlight your answers. No sweat!! It's easy, because you answer it with a partner.
In Social Studies, we do lots of fun stuff in Mrs. Trubys class. We do skits, we learn about the civil war, and we watch only one or two videos about the civil war and maby a couple morring work papers. But thats basiclly it , so I think you will have a great time in 5th grade.
